True Kindness - "Chessed Shel Emet"
Mona Daniella did "Chessed" - acts of True Kindness since childhood. "Cheesed Shel Emet" in Hebrew means "The True Act of Kindness" where a person doesn't expect anything in exchange for their good deeds. Mona Daniella volunteered for several organizations, in addition, she was a staunch activist for the underprivileged.

Mona tutored underprivileged children for years. She had started in Middle School and continued while in high school. She would come home sometimes at 9:00 PM or later. Mona was an Advocacy and Public Relations Intern in MataHari, a Non-Profit for immigrant women of color who are mostly domestic workers, or similar. She lobbied hard for, worked, and helped pass The Domestic Worker's Bill of Rights in Massachusetts, and compiled research on immigration reform and how immigration laws affect women and families in particular. She managed the newsletter and social media outlets, assisted in planning and running trainings and events for MataHari members,

March 17, 2014 - Mona Daniella Haddad, Ingrid Robles Lantigua, and Marlene Juarez from Matahari Women Workers' Center, outside the Massachusetts State House after lobbying hard for the Domestic Workers' Bill of Rights, which passed thanks to their relentless efforts. On July 2nd, 2014, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick signed the Massachusetts Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. This law is a landmark bill for MA and the country.

Mona taught music to 120 underserved children, ages 8-14, and served as a listener, confidant, and advisor. She developed and ran activities which was dedicated to playing games that promoted safe and engaging social interaction. Cambridge, MA Mona was a volunteer Research Assistant and studied prosocial behaviors in children at the Warneken Lab. She investigated how infants and children perceive and reason about the world around them, their understanding of the physical world, how children acquire language, and how they interact socially with other people. Mona studied the development of the cognitive capacities of infants, toddlers, and children. She also studied their developing mind in order to understand more about the structure of the mind in general, the development of logical capacities, intuitive theories, conceptual structure, and perception. One of Mona's functions was to recruit and schedule child participants, test children in the lab, and analyze data. Her ability to work with young children was a plus, as it was essential. |
