True Kindness - "Chessed Shel Emet"
Mona Daniella did "Chessed" - acts of True Kindness since childhood. "Cheesed Shel Emet" in Hebrew means "The True Act of Kindness" where a person doesn't expect anything in exchange for their good deeds. Mona Daniella volunteered for several organizations, in addition, she was a staunch activist for the underprivileged.
Mona Daniella received a CITATION from THE OKLAHOMA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES in 1997
Mona Daniella got this "Citation" (we did not even know what it meant at the time) when she was 7 years old from the Oklahoma House of Representatives. When the Federal building got bombed in Oklahoma (and was completely destroyed), Mona had offered to send her clothes, her blankets, her food, and she received this honor. And so Mona Daniella grew up, doing good deeds to others, without expecting anything in return, and humble that she was, we did not find out about a lot of her good deeds until after her untimely, tragic and sudden death. New York, NY Mona tutored underprivileged children for years. She had started in Middle School and continued while in high school. She would come home sometimes at 9:00 PM or later. She would give extra time to the kids who had a test the next day. She won the Alan Helmreich Community Service Award. Boston City Singers, Boston, MA
Mona taught music to 120 underserved children, ages 8-14, and served as a listener, confidant, and advisor. She developed and ran activities which was dedicated to playing games that promoted safe and engaging social interaction. She babysat children ages 0-3 for those who couldn't afford (in addition to those who could afford). |
