Samantha Scott (Simon's Rock RA) I am sorry for your loss. I was on of Mona's RA (1) and she was always such a pleasure to have around campus. When we opened our womens center in Crosby, the dorm house she lived in during her first year at Simons Rock, she was always involved and making her voice heard. She was a true inspire to the girls on campus. Mona was remembered as always being happy and smiling around campus. We were a small campus so everyone knew each other. All the students would come together and relax, talk or cook food together.
(1) RA is resident advisor so if a student need help or needed to talk to a Counselor we were the first ones a student would talk to. We are also in charge of events on campus.
Aluel Angok, Mona worked with her and her children, (from South Sudan) Cambridge, MA Hello Esther; I am pleased to hear from you for the first time. What a pleasure! Mona's from outside and inside is pretty fascinating!!! We met at Sudanese Education Funds in Arlington, Massachusetts during her volunteer work with them. I do not know where to start about Mona. We builded an amazing relationship together specially my little girls. They missed her so much when she moved back to New York. It was a huge heart broken to me, but Mona must keep going after Mona's dream. I hope she will return back to us someday. We will be thrill....... Overall, I wish the best for Mona. Please let me or us know if there us anything more we could for Mona to reach her goal. My best moment with Mona is the GED prep in 2012 - 2013. She made the learning so much fun and easier to conquered the course! What an awesome moment to educate someone because of the caring and love she has in her heart and her thoughts. Girls will never forget about the Disney on Ice, Children Museum, and hanging out at her condo. Girls kept on mentioning that every time I bring Mona's name up because I missed her terriblly! Really, G'd bless this girl!! I hope she knows that we truly love her because she is part of our family. The two older girls 14 is Agueil and 12 is Madalana. The youngest is 8.
